Celebration ExPIERience Raises $1.7 Million for Public Arts and Cultural Programs

Co-chaired by Lisa and Jeff Aronin, the Celebration ExPIERience fundraising event will expand Navy Pier’s free public programming available to 9.3 million guests annually.

Celebration ExPIERience was the first fundraising event ever hosted by Navy Pier, celebrating the conclusion of its 100th anniversary. Host Bill Kurtis commented: “Everybody in this room can feel a great deal of pride in this new centennial re-imagining of Navy Pier.” The evening featured performances by local artists.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel acknowledged current and future architectural and artistic efforts at the Pier, which included The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Polk Bros. Park, and a renovated Chicago Children’s Museum.

Lisa and Jeff Aronin were joined as co-chairs by Virginia and Norm Bobins, Joan and Bill Brodsky, and Yvonne and Devon Bruce. The event surpassed its fundraising goals.
